I love Astrid, especially in paisley. I really want it. It would be easy to pick up the phone and buy it now, or rush into Elizabeth St., credit card in hand.
But with the sample sale looming, I am trying to be sensible and show the discipline I won't display next week. So, on that note, I'm at home with the cats. The windows are open, sun is streaming through. I'm wearing Melia and listening to Stereolab and putting the finishing touches to next week's lectures.
If it is meant to be, I will have Astrid next week, but I think I want Izadora, Elvira and a few other pieces even more.

$795 is too much for a single dress! Think about the price per wear. You could pick up several items for the same cost that you'll cherish for years. If you can live without it, pass on it for now and think about other things. With Mayle, it's easy to lose perspective!
that's so funny -- i was wearing melia today too, with bare legs no less. now i understand why spring is so anticipated in the northeast.

I am so proud of your self-restraint. I have none. I bought momo and Astrid ($450) in paisley. I did exactly what I was afraid I'd do and spent a fortune.
I'd have got Astrid too, were it not for the sample sale and my huge tax bill, Monica! You deserve them--I hope they bring you a lot of pleasure.

When I was at the store I was told Astrid was NOT on sale, so I put the size 2 in black back on the rack. I then saw Chelsea's post that the dresses were actually on sale so I called the store immediately. All the size 2's were gone except for the lavender color. I bought the paisley in size 4 - I would have preferred the size 2 but that was not an option. I was also told that this version of the Astrid was cut a little more narrow.I believe all the black and paisley Astrids are sold out.
Moya - I asked about sizes for you - there are no Astrids at this point larger than a size 2. The only colorways left are lavender and black.
I wanted to try on Astrid and see how I felt, and I suppose I am relieved that it wasn't an option for me also (I was hoping for paisley)...
Thank you, Cindy. I guess that's $450 extra I have for the sample sale. Realistically, I'd have felt guilty if I spent that much on a dress before the sample sale. In a way, it's a relief knowing they don't have it in my size. If they were cut smaller, then I may have needed an 8 that they may not have had anyway.

Perhaps you will be able to score the Astrid on LG when it goes on sale. But, I now have less to spend at the SS, but I do love the 2 items I bought. I also love the coat that Kama is wearing in the picture and I am excited about the baby billies. On another note, how have you been? Feeling a little better, I hope.

It was great seeing you again, I had a feeling I would bump into you when I returned to the store to pick up Astrid. Did you pick anything up at INA?
LivKate: I had nearly $2600 this morning earmarked for the sale. I wanted to dislike momo but i figured its a great piece and will be stunning over a black dress. I am now at around $2100 and hoping its enough for 3 days in NYC and the sale.
Moya, you will get an astrid eventually. who knows maybe jane will recut but i wonder what the price point will be.....
That said I paid $445 for momo b/c i used that crappy $30 credit! and its $10 to get Michaela repaired...

I think you will be very happy with Momo, I bought the crushed floral pattern and am super pleased. The cut is very flattering. I am also super curius as to how they are going to organize, manage and control this SS. I think it is going to be pure bedlam.
