I was running late and called Elise to see if the new deliveries had arrived. They have not. They may arrive later today but even then, it will take them a while to unpack everything. So I'll go by late afternoon, if at all. If nothing is in today, then I won't make it until Thursday because of my teaching schedule. Watch this space for the promised update.

Moya - I saw a woman wearing Gaia and she tried on a Cliveden cropped wrap ruffle blouse in the holiday '07 floral print and she looked awesome. I bet you'd look lovely w/ that coupling as well!
I saw the Therese (didn't see it last week) and gosh is it beautiful. If it were a print with a solid lace, I'd have bought it immediately...
FYI - if anyone purchases the last Petulia in a 2, note that there are supposed to be 3 buttons on the bib. One is missing.

Gaia plus Cliveden is not a combination I'd have thought would work. I may have to try it, although I think I'd rather spend that kind of money on another dress.
The shop was empty. Elise, however, was handling non-stop phone calls.
I was awed at how Gaia worked with that cropped blouse. I agree, you should save your money for an investment piece... Frankly, I'd have to be given a Cliveden to have one; my closet and figure objects (large hips). I think Cliveden is there b/c 90s stuff is on trend and there are cropped tops and bralettes aplenty in shops now (yucky).
I remember the Clivden when it first came out. It was insanely popular. sometimes it pops up on ebay. The initial versions were white silk with apink or blue pattern, then more sheer patterened silks.
I love the Therese. Its one of my favorite dresses from Spring 2005 ever. As I already own it I too would have loved another color combo... but version original is just as great. Plus the price is on point with teh original price!
I have the Cliveden in the yellow silk with the grey mayle logo ribbon design (I think it may be from Spring 2002? - I bought it full price at the Nolita boutique and remember that it was pretty expensive). The same fabric was used for a dress as well. It is very pretty but I really do not wear it often -- I find it to be very high maintenance. It is a little too cropped for my taste and very fitted -- runs pretty small. I do try to whip it out every once in a while, I usually wear it with a vest over it. I also had the black Therese (I sold it on ebay for a huge profit!!!)
LivKate did you sell it for $600? remember that. The girl you sold it to buys all my old Mayle that doesnt fit me (that she doesn't have). I also had the yellow dress, i remember that I bought it when she did an editors sale at the store - I got it for like $119, the fit was nice, I just never wore it once. I sold it on ebay, and its funny because the woman I sold it to sold it to someone else, who sold it to someone else.... ahhh following the trail.
Does anyone have photos of the Therese? I think my work schedule is going to be too busy to make it to the city tomorrow. I'm afraid that I will have to go on Saturday, which I'm afraid is going to be busy.

I got it half off at Elyse Walker, but am having second thoughts - I think I am going to return it tomorrow. It's adorable - it fits a 4 or a 6. I'm selling for $375 + free shipping in continental US.
Melissa--Aurelie actually runs small to true to size. I got a 10 and needed every inch of it. The back is cut narrow and the fabric has no give. I'm usually an 8 in Mayle, with the occasional 10 when it is cut narrow and some 6s (I have more 6s than 10s, so I'd go up a size unless you have a narrow back).

I have the Aurelie and I agree with Moya. I have it in a size 4 and it fits perfect. I tried on the 2 and although it fit, i felt that it was too constricting across the chest (I am between an A and B cup) and the upper back/ shoulder region. The top is a bit deceiving because it appears so voluminous.

I think the dress sold for over $650 - which came as a complete shock to me. I absolutely loved that dress and purchased it in the fall of 2001 at Mayle. I wore it only once or twice (my wedding rehearsal dinner) so I have nice photos of me wearing it. I sold it because my lifestyle is not conducive to maximizing the use of Therese. I find that I wear her more recent dresses much more - such as the Elvira (brown), Katia, Mala, Melia etc. They are a little more casual and easy to wear. I also adore the madcap print and bought both blouses in that print.

livkate - are you normally a size 2 in mayle? i'm normally 2-4 in mayle, but mostly 2. also, i called christine elyse last week, and they had the zenith top still in at 1/2 off.
Livkate - Elyse Walker has the Justinian dress, the skort, Zenith, and Ziggy. I think the skort and Ziggy are the only items on sale.
ey guys - just wanted to let you all know that I am planning on selling my Poppy dress from S/S 2007 its a 4 - nwot i never wore it for $275 Also the black silk cami from S/S 2007 with the sequined straps its a 0 but cut big for $125...... Save me some ebay fees if you are interested.
