My current Mayle favorites from Resort

Thanks to Christina, I've been able to copy some images. Here they are--if I was wealthy, I'd get them all.

LOVE the Melia dress! i don't think i could ever pull off the Jacinthe dress, though, because of the lower waistline. maybe i should try it on before i make any decisions, i do love the colorways.

Melia and Jacinthe are definitely my favorites, too. I'm not a fan of the skorts or the jumper-- I think I would look ridiculous in the jumper. I love all the belts, too.

I have a business lunch in Soho today, maybe I will wander over and stick my head in the shop afterwards and see everything in person.

I'm not a fan of the jumper--I like the top of it though.

Did you get over to Mayle at lunchtime, Susie? I can't believe they are doing shoes again. I have 6 pairs from them and they fit my feet so well (I am a wide size 10). All this is going to make it tough for me not to dig into savings!

wow, 6 pairs! i would love to see some of them (as well as other parts of your mayle collection).

i didn't get over to mayle yesterday. my lunch ran long and i didn't get out until 4:00! i hope i'll be able to make it some time soon, just to try on pieces for fun. it will be an exercise in self-control, i'm sure! i am wondering if the shop might end up with more stock than it expected, since so many retailers seem to be canceling or limiting their orders? i am praying for a last sample sale. i never made it to the other ones and so regret it.

i stopped into mayle today for a few minutes after brunch. i wasn't there long, but it looks like there is tons of stock, and even some additional holiday pieces. for example, i saw zora in persimmon! i had no idea they were making it in that color, and i'm almost certain that was not there before. there were also some holiday blouses that i didn't recognize.

i have to say that i didn't love jacinthe as much as i thought i would in person, but it is still beautiful. jacinthe is also being made in the same paisley as astrid, as well as black. melia is beautiful, but i didn't love the mirrors on the front of the dress.

the blouses this season are outstanding. dezra in black is gorgeous, as is the zenith top. you can't tell from the lookbook, but the zenith has multiple straps at top that are so pretty.

the accessories are also fabulous. there is only one shoe, a strappy cork wedge, and no clogs. lots of clutches and bags.

also, for anyone interested, there is a lily in size 8 on ebay for $199. hope everyone is having a good weekend! christina, thanks for the info on VOD, i inquired about the yves dress but it is still $325, so i will have to think about it.

By coincidence, Erica and I went in to Mayle today! I saw the Zora in persimmon and loved it, although I think I'd probably get more wear out of one of the other colors. I think all the new stock may lead holiday to get neglected (or maybe that's wishful thinking--I want Hera and I can't afford it as it is nearly $600 for a top).

I loved some of the resort--alas, Jacinthe, which I loved--never came in above a size 6, and they only had one size 0 left. Sometimes I feel like a giant, in the worst kind of way.

I tried on Astrid, which was nice but not nice enough to warrant buying it yet. I also tried Melia which was great, albeit shorter than it appears in the lookbook, and Jemeen, which runs huge and was a little flimsy. I needed an 8 in Melia an a 6 in Jemeen (although I could probably fit in a 4).

how funny! what time were you guys there? and did you make it to the sale in fort greene?

too bad about jacinthe! i don't know why they would only make it in such limited sizes. i can't believe it is already practically sold out! i saw the 0 there but assumed it was just the smallest size they had in stock. like you, i am hoping that there are going to be more sales due to the new stock.

moya, how do you like your yves dress? does it run true to size? the yves dress in the lookbook looks different from the one i saw at barneys. what neckline does yours have? thanks!

Susie,
I think there are two versions of the Yves dress in rose because the textile of the one I saw at VOD was a monochromatic rose/light rose combination whereas the one on the mayle site is a rose/black.

Did anyone happen to see any of the Odette coats left? I am stalking eluxury until it goes on sale but I'm afraid I may have missed the boat on getting it at a somewhat decent price. Did they have any sale items left?

I emailed refinery29 to suggest a story on Jane and the editor wrote me back to tell me it was already in the works! Should be very interesting...

My Yves is black and rose--it has the v-neck with grosgrain ribbon trim at the top part of the v. It's just like the one in the lookbook. The other one I saw in Barneys looks the same. It's identical to the one on Barney's online and it is the only one I've seen.

I have the size 10, which may be a size too big, but I think this actually fits true to size and maybe a little small, at least at the back. It is roomy in the waist and at the front (but I am small there). I can see why it is belted in the lookbook--it is certainly a fitted dress, but I think it is cut a little strangely, or at least, cut for a body more busty and smaller in the back than mine. I really like it a lot and think it may be the most wearable everyday dress from the Fall collection. It would also be relatively easy to have altered along one of the side seams or at the top of the shoulders.

I have no idea why they are making such limited sizes either. Evidently Jacinthe ran small too. And they made it in three different colorways. It is possible they just didn't call me the day it came in and it just all sold out. But they've done this before. I think they should have made large amounts of these final collections but I am not the arbiter on these things.

As for the Odette coats, I haven't seen any, Christina, but Mayle suggests calling Opening Ceremony in LA who seem to be their biggest stockists outside the NYC store. They suggested I call there about larger sizes of Jacinthe.

Christina,

I just heard back from Opening Ceremony LA--they had an Odette in 4 and just returned it to Mayle. This means that Mayle does accept returns and may be getting more size 2s in. You may want to call them in a few days--if you could do with a 4, it will be around $500.

Alas, they have no size 10 Jacinthe dresses at Opening Ceremony.
