Mayle Sale at Coplons

Thanks to Christina and Susie, I just splurged again. Christina pointed out that Coplons in Virginia (coplons.com) have Mayle at 70% off. This is fall only--they didn't receive resort or holiday, a refrain we've heard before. On a tangent, I don't get why stores like Jake in Chicago that were so loyal to Mayle weren't able to get these last collections.

So, I just spent $308 on the Paradiso top at $125 and Harumi Kiyoko--the Kiyoko dress with Eden print inserts (which I have never seen) for $165. I hope it isn't just Harumi which I own. Shipping is $15. They are very friendly--Southern hospitality isn't a myth--and apparently they have some Eniko dresses left, although not in my size I imagine (I already own it in Paradiso anyway).

Also, eluxury has 30% off sale Mayle items, but most of these can be found cheaper elsewhere at this point.

So, at this point, I have 12 items from Mayle's Fall collection, including Billie Doux in suede. But I'm so disinterested in everything else out there that I imagine it will be a lean shopping year, with just a few Steven Alan pieces added to my closet. Even recession sales aren't tempting as I just don't want the items at any price.

ooh, you're going to love the paradiso top, it'll be perfect for spring. i'm intrigued about the harumi kiyoko. both are great buys and will serve you well for many years to come.

i agree that recession sales aren't tempting. the only things i've bought lately are for the baby. it's cheap instant gratification.

i do love the new SA liberty print pieces, but i'm really not in the mood for clothing. this final month is going to be rough, if the past week or so are any indication.

I'm sorry to hear that, Erica. Are you feeling sick? At least it will all be over soon and you will have a wonderful son.

I keep thinking how much this would be an ideal time to get pregnant--I am not craving clothing and I could spend some time with the baby now the book is effectively done, but my damn body and age are conspiring against me! I hope that changes soon and we can swap tips on baby items.

I do hope you feel better soon and that this month isn't too rough. Will you get any maternity leave?

Erica, hang in there! Moya, I'm glad you found some things at Coplons. I ordered eniko so I can't wait.

If anyone finds more sales on Mayle, please share!

Thank you so much for finding this one, Christina. I'm so pleased you got Eniko--was it in the Paradiso?

The only other possible Mayle sale I know of right now is at Bird. Tomorrow, they start their final winter sale with reductions of 50-75%. Most of what I want is resort/holiday so who knows if those will be marked down further.

Moya, I ordered Eniko in the ivory which was what I initially wanted plus I already have Mitsuko in Paradiso. I just checked Zoe and they have 70% as well. Aiko for 148, Olympe for 300, Ludovine for 268. I wish they had Aiko in small. A size 4 Ludovine might be too loose, I'm not sure. Does Ludovine fit similarly to Odette? Do you live near Zoe in Dumbo? If you have a chance to stop in, please check for smaller sizes like 2,0 as well as belts, bags. Also, let me know if Bird marks down anything to 75%.

I've noticed that holiday and resort are more difficult to find so I don't know if I'll be able to get anything. Maybe the final two seasons were limited in production so many shops didn't order. Does Mayle seems to have a lot of stock left at the nolita shop? I still think they will have some sort of closing sale to get rid of the less popular items like those satin clutches. lol I do like the lace/leather clutch and the black romy bag. Those are on my wishlist so I hope I can find them on sale. Agnes in black is on sale at shopbop but still expensive.

Hi Christina,

Ludovine runs a little small, certainly smaller than Odette--I'd get the measurements and see if it fits. I'll go into the Dumbo store but I suspect most of their stock is in Princeton.

Mayle had a reasonable amount of holiday and resort, but not as much as we'd like. I think there will be things on sale but I don't know what. I imagine they also get stock in from some other stores. I think we'll find items on eluxury for some time, and certainly, you have found some amazing things for all of us.

I'll let you know what Bird has--they do have items that aren't online. In fact, if I were you, I'd call the Fifth Avenue Bird about Ludovine in size 2 because they did have the smaller sizes there--and they never put it up online.

Mayle had tons of the satin clutches on sale (but only 20% off), the lace ones were full price. I'm coveting an Agnes bag--I hope they get reduced further on shopbop!

I will, of course, let you know what I find. As you are a small size you should call Jumelle in Brooklyn--they have taken some of their sale stuff down from their website and they have yet to announce their final sales.

My package arrived! and amazingly everything fits perfectly! I was pleasantly surprised, since I was convinced that at least one would be a mess up. Everything's also v. beautiful. It's hard to pick a favorite, but I love Melia and Emmanuelle. My sister loves Mitchi and Zora. Which really makes me wish I had bought an Yves dress... If you come across Yves size 8, let me know! (I called the store yesterday, but the answer's rather unfriendly NO. So I didn't even ask what else might be available...) Has anyone been to the store recently? Do they have much left?

And for Ludovine, I really love it. It's so simple and a classic. For me though (my body type), it doesn't seem to run small, I was afraid that it might be tight at 6 since I am between 6 and 8, (thanks, Moya! You said 6 sounds right), but I could not have taken 8. Cecile seems to run a bit big. My sister who's 8 wishes she had bought 6. Senna is a bit peculiar, a different feeling from the lookbook, and there's elastic in the fabric, but my sister really loves it. Senna also seems to run a bit big. Receiving this box makes me wish there's even more Mayle to look through...

Christina, i think if you are size 2, Ludovine size 4 will be too lose. It's also the sort of a coat that won't look good loose. But $268 is a bargain. I bought mine at $375. And it's really beautiful, I think.

christina, i agree that a 4 will be too big. i have it in a 0 and there is still room to wear a sweater underneath.
moya, thanks for the tip on bird! though last time i went into the slope location, they really didn't have much left (i think i saw penilope, aiko, and a pair of harem pants). do you think they have more stock at the cobble hill store?

oh, also, metier seems to have marked down their stock even further. they had marion for around $158, 2 and 6. they've updated their blog with new prices.

happy friday, everyone!

I'm so glad everything fit, Kim. I love Ludovine too, although now it is so cheap at Zoe, I wish I had waited. Still, it is better than not getting it at all or paying full price. I'm glad Emmanuelle fit you. I love Melia too--did you get the white or black? I'm hoping I can find the black on sale.

I may be able to get over to Mayle next week and, if so, I'll report on what they have, Christina. I think there will be some further reductions but I can't recall what they had. Many of the resort dresses also came in black and I think those won't sell as fast as the colors and prints.

I'll also keep an eye out for the Yves, Kim. If I were you, I'd call Mayle on Fridays. Christina and Elise work then and they are lovely--one of the other girls does have a bit of an awkward attitude and it sounds like she answered your call.

I have to admit I was a little disappointed in Senna. I loved it in the lookbook but it seemed a bit stiff in the store. Plus it is the kind of cotton that attracts cat hair and with my long-haired fluffball, Peeps, there's no way I could wear it. I'm glad your sister liked it. It did look really good on a couple of people who tried it on in the store.

Moya, I stumbled across your blog recently. You have assembled quite the collection of mayle and I'm most certainly envious. Not sure whether you saw this yet:

http://pipeline.refinery29.com/news/retail_scoop_mayle_staying_ope.php

Apparently, the boutique is staying open until april and having one more collection!

Moya said...

Wow! Thank you for that, KK. I actually dreamed that there would be one new Mayle collection last night. That's great news!

hi, all. i got my olympe last week and i LOVE it. it's a bit slouchy, but i think it looks good that way, esp. with a pair of heels.

fyi, i was in the boutique last week and i tried on the ludovine in a size 2 in the tweed; and though it fit overall i found it tight in the bust. so i guess it depends on how full-chested you are. i think i would need a 4, which i will try from eluxury. but if any of you is interested, you should call the boutique. they may still have it! good luck!

and i'm so excited about the last mayle collection. great news!

Biscuit said...

wow, i wonder what prompted that decision? maybe seeing how loyal and devoted a following she has developed inspired her to do stick around a bit longer. great news in any event, though frankly i am getting exhausted from hunting mayle!

glad you like your olympe, melissa! it is such a warm coat.

i may be out in williamsburg tonight; if so, i will stop by jumelle and report back!

Moya, thank you for the tips and for checking those stores for me. I may try to call Zoe Princeton and Jumelle tomorrow. I emailed Jumelle about smaller sizes last month but they told me everything was sold out. Kim, you and your sister got some amazing pieces. Does Senna fit true to size? I have two persian fluffballs so maybe Senna's not a good idea. I have lint rollers all over the place and that's not enough. Their hair attacks everything.

I agree that Ludovine in a 4 will be too loose. My Odette in 0 is loose enough and it's perfect. What are the thoughts on Olympe? I tried this on at VOD in size 0 and love it because it has that french, I'm not trying too hard vibe to it. They sold out of the 0 so would a 4 be too big?

This is such good news about Mayle! I hope the collection will be distributed and not limited to nolita. I heard she is bringing back the baby billie bag so I hope that's true!!!!! I emailed VOD and they still have the Yves, size 0 in rose at 300 if anyone is interested. Seems they sold out of quite a bit already.

Moya said...

Christina--call Bird now! Size 2 Olympe is $249!

Bird at Fifth Ave have the Ludovine coat in a size 2, for $219

I was able to stop by the nolita shop yesterday morning (but only very briefly as the boy was patiently indulging me). It seemed like they still have a lot of stock and prices haven't fallen since the original markdowns. The stock seems pretty full overall (I was surprised at the number of theodora dresses in both persimmon and black they still had); except of course for the one thing I was hoping to find. Anyone know if a thea dress, size 4 in putty still exists anywhere?

Moya said...

That's promising news, Karen. Was Mayle busy? I am hoping for another round of markdowns but I bet it won't be for another month. I would love to get Theodora and wish they had it in the persimmon in size 10. The only place I know for sure has Thea in Putty is La Garconne, but it is full price. We're waiting to hear from VanJean in SC and there's a possibility they have it at Metier in San Francisco.
