A Few Not so Good Photos of My Mayle Dresses

I'm finally getting to it. I'm very much a neophyte here, as I usually take photos of others. Here are a few older pictures of some Mayle favorites, including Ignacia from Holiday 07 (worn on Evan's birthday in May) and my lovely blue acetate dress from Summer 07 worn at a conference in Santa Barbara last April. There's also a more recent efforts which leave a lot to be desired photographically--I do know how to take photos but this mirror stuff is not so easy... especially when the sunshine foregrounds spots on the mirror. I'm wearing Ludovine, but I'll post better pictures soon.

A postscript--it looks like I am wearing my Raisa coat from Fall 07 with my blue dress.

ooh the Ignacia is so lovely! i never saw it in person, but the details look gorgeous. that blue is also amazing. it wasn't quite the right color for me, but it's really perfect (in santa barbara, no less) on you!

i'm glad you're posting a few photos of your mayle pieces. i've no doubt you have a formidable collection.

Thank you! I can tell neither of us is watching the superbowl. I love that blue dress--I paid $75 for it at the Mayle sale, making it the best ever bargain.

I hope you had a great baby shower this afternoon--I love the dress you wore. You are glowing!

superbowl? eh, what? i guess it's over by now, but i really wouldn't know. is that why the blogs are so quiet today?

i can't believe you got that dress for $75! zoe has the ludovine in black (size 10) for $268, the liliane (8) for $148, and boukris pants (2) for $114. i am so annoyed with la garconne and their useless reductions. i should have just bought the aiko. being fiscally conservative really stinks because there's never a 'good' time to stop spending, especially when the sales are so good. but it's a slippery slope...

the baby shower was wonderful, so much food. all i do is eat nowadays, thank goodness the end is in sight! daily bowls of ice cream can't be good for me...i should switch to apples.

moya, you look lovely in your photos. echoing an earlier sentiment someone wrote on another post, this blog is wonderful in that it's so nice to find others with like-minded aesthetics.

yesterday, i caved and bought the thea in black from the bird on smith street. the store was fairly busy and the it seems like they've been moving a fair amount of merchandise. mostly, it seemed like they had mayle things left in small sizes (I recall zora in 0, 2, 4). in contrast, the nolita shop was not especially busy and seemed to be decently stocked (the stock sent back from oc la).

p.s. erica, i've come across your blog before and it's wonderful!

Fun to see these photos! These photos make me want to put on my Mayle and hang out at a bar with the bf back in the city. I've never seen the Ignacia. It's lovely, and you look perfect in it. Today, I went to the trendy shopping district here, which was littered with the sale sign, and I must say it all looked so boring. It's gotta be some sort of a Mayle withdrawal. Oh...the Nolita shop is stocked. That's where I want to be. I would love to see more photos!

You look so happy in these photos! I love the blue dress!

Didn't make it to Jumelle this weekend-- the weekend was so busy! The weather was glorious yesterday; hope you were able to enjoy some of it.

Thank you for all your nice comments--I wish I could wear these dresses right now too. I am going to post more photos soon. Evan took one of me wearing Yves last night but you can't really see the details (I was writing and I'm bent over my laptop). He actually commented that it was a nice dress and asked if it was Mayle.

I'm glad you had a great shower, Erica. You looked so great in your red dress. I can't wait to see your baby pictures. It's gone so fast!

Karen, I'm glad you got Thea. Which size did you end up getting? I really think I need a 10 so it is unlikely that I'll ever get one. I'm hoping for Theodora in persimmon instead.

I love that blue dress. I can't remember its name. As soon as it first came in, I decided it was my favorite from Summer 07 and nearly paid full price (it was about $565). It has the greatest black and white buttons sewn on with red thread. I went to the sample sale that summer (the first day) and found the yellow sample version which didn't fit. I went back the next day, expecting nothing new, and found the dress in size 8 for $75. I don't even think it got reduced in store so it was one of my all time favorite steals. I'll post more photos of it as the details are incredible (of course!).

I agree everyone who adores your blue dress. It's such a great story, too. Girl meets dress, dress is perfect and terribly expensive, but after a few complications, girl gets dress under the best possible circumstances.

moya, I (surprisingly) ended up with the 4. I think perhaps I was overestimating sizes after spending some time at the lyell sample sale a week or two ago (practically everything there seems to run on the small side).

I hope you end up with the persimmon theodora; I know they have quite a few left in stock at the nolita boutique (unfortunately, I'm not positive on the sizes). still $485 but of course, it's a stunning dress...
